At Bromo, yes on Telkomsel, Indosat and XL, from Cemoro Lawang to the crater rim. At Ijen, Telkomsel reaches the crater rim while the others are patchy. Based on network measurements from September 2026.

Crowd-sourced network measurements on nPerf's map show 4G from Telkomsel, Indosat and XL around Cemoro Lawang, the Penanjakan viewpoint and the Bromo crater area. Telkomsel's own page warns that signal in the Bromo area "may be limited", so expect it to drop in places even where measurements show coverage.
Ijen crater
- Crater rim: Telkomsel 4G measured. No measurements for Indosat or XL.
- Around the Paltuding trailhead area: Telkomsel 4G, Indosat mixed with no-signal points, XL only further away.
Ijen closes for 24 hours on the first Friday of every month, and since January 2024 climbers need a health certificate. Check both before you plan the night hike.

- Download offline maps of the area before you leave Probolinggo or Banyuwangi.
- Carry a power bank for the night climb at Ijen, and a headlamp that does not depend on your phone.
- Save your driver's number and meeting point as screenshots.
