Yes. During the climbing season Mount Fuji has mobile coverage from the trailheads to the summit, including 5G at the top. Japan's operators set up seasonal equipment every summer, and two of them publish the details. What the operators publish for the 2026 season
- docomo: 5G and 4G at the summit, 4G on all four trails and at the mountain huts, from July to August 2026.
- au (KDDI): 5G at the summit and at the Gotemba New 5th Station, 4G on all routes and at the huts, with weak spots on the loop around the crater rim.
- SoftBank: a seasonal summit station with 5G from early July, and 4G at the trailheads.

Free Wi-Fi on the mountain
- Fujisan Wi-Fi: free at 48 spots from early July to early September.

Outside the season
The equipment is seasonal. Out of season the mountain is closed to regular climbers, and you should not count on coverage above the 5th stations.
Before you climb the Yoshida Trail
The Yamanashi side sets its own rules: open from 1 July to 10 September, a 4,000 yen fee, the gate closed from 14:00 to 03:00 except for hut guests, and a cap of 4,000 climbers a day. Book and pay online before you go, with the eSIM already working.
