Connect Wigoo to Claude or ChatGPT: the eSIM connector, step by step
Add the Wigoo MCP server to Claude, Claude Code or ChatGPT and ask for an eSIM in plain words: real plans, prices in your currency and a link that opens the right plan. Free, no key, two minutes.
· Updated
Wigoo has a public connector for AI assistants, listed in Claude's connector directory: connect it in Claude, or add https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcp to ChatGPT, and you can ask for a travel eSIM in plain words. The assistant reads our real plans and prices instead of guessing, compares them for your trip, and gives you a link that opens the purchase for the plan it picked. It is free, it needs no key and no account, and it takes about two minutes to set up.
The connector is a server for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that Anthropic published in November 2024 so that assistants can use outside tools and data in the same way everywhere. Claude, ChatGPT and many developer tools speak it today.
What the connector does
It gives the assistant four read-only tools on our catalogue:
| Tool | What the assistant gets |
|---|---|
search_destinations | Countries and regions we sell, with the starting price, the networks and a buy link |
get_destination | What a destination offers: data sizes, validity, unlimited day passes, top ups |
list_plans | Every plan on sale, with data, days, networks and price in your currency |
get_quote | The price of one plan and a link that opens the purchase of that plan |
It does not buy anything and it cannot see your account. The purchase happens on getwigoo.com, where you type an email and pay, with no account needed. Everything it reads is also public on our destination pages; the connector simply lets the assistant read it reliably.

Where it works
| App | How to add it | Who can |
|---|---|---|
| Claude on the web and Claude Desktop | The Wigoo listing in the connector directory, then Connect | Anyone on Claude |
| Claude Code | claude mcp add in the terminal | Anyone using Claude Code |
| ChatGPT | Plugins, Add, Add custom MCP server | Worked on a Plus account on 28 October 2026 |
| Any other MCP client | Streamable HTTP at the server address, no key | Anyone |
Each one is explained step by step below. If you would rather not add anything, you do not have to: the same plans are on getwigoo.com, and the guide for AI assistants and agents lists what an assistant can do without the connector.
In Claude
Since 28 October 2026 Wigoo is in Claude's connector directory, published by Wigoo Labs LLC with the Community label, which Anthropic gives to connectors it has screened before listing them.
- Open the Wigoo listing, or in Claude open Customize, Connectors, Discover and search Wigoo.
- Press Connect. There is nothing to sign in to.
- In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and switch Wigoo on.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to allow the connector for the organisation first.
If you added Wigoo earlier as a custom connector with the server address, remove it once the directory one is connected, so Claude does not see the same tools twice. The custom way still works: Customize, Connectors, Add, Add custom connector, the address https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcp and No sign in.
In Claude Code
One command in the terminal, from the folder where you want it:
claude mcp add --transport http wigoo https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcp
Claude Code loads servers when a session starts, so open a new session after adding it. claude mcp list shows whether it is connected.
In ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers as personal plugins. This is the path we followed on a Plus account on the web on 28 October 2026; the menu names have changed before, so OpenAI's help page has the current ones.
- Open Plugins in the sidebar, then Add, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Wigoo, paste
https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcpas the server URL and set authentication to No authentication. - Confirm the notice about custom servers, choose Create as plugin, then Connect Wigoo.
- In a chat, type @Wigoo and choose it, then ask your question.
On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow custom servers first. Wigoo has also been submitted to the ChatGPT plugin directory and is under review.
Any other MCP client
The server speaks Streamable HTTP, answers the 2025 and 2026 versions of the protocol and keeps no session, so any MCP client or agent framework can use it. You can try it without any client:
curl https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcp \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-H 'accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'
The tool reference, the link format and the rules for agents are on Wigoo for AI assistants and agents. If you are building on it, the developer documentation has every parameter, response field and error, and examples in curl, TypeScript and Python.
What to ask
Ask the way you would ask a friend who knows eSIMs. A few that work well, and what the assistant does with them:
| You ask | The assistant uses | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Find me an eSIM for Japan, 10 days, at least 10 GB. Prices in euros. | search_destinations, list_plans | The plans that fit, in euros, with the network |
| Italy, France and Spain for three weeks. One regional plan or three country plans? | search_destinations, get_destination | A comparison of the regional plan against three country plans |
| Unlimited data for Thailand for 15 days: how much, and on which network? | list_plans with the unlimited type | The day pass, its daily full-speed allowance and the network |
| The link to buy the cheapest plan for Mexico with at least 5 GB. | list_plans, get_quote | The price and a link that opens that plan |
Not sure how much data you need? How much data apps use has the numbers for maps, messages, video and calls. Not sure what an unlimited day pass is? Here.
An example conversation
This is what a real conversation looked like on 23 October 2026, in Italian, with prices in euros, for Kazakhstan.
The question: "Find me an eSIM for Kazakhstan."
What the assistant did: it used the tools four times to find the destination and read its plans, and answered with the nine plans on sale: five fixed plans from 1 GB for 7 days at €2.19 to 20 GB for 30 days at €15.59, and unlimited day passes from 3 days at €6.69 to 30 days at €66.59, all on the Beeline network and all with top ups. It added that the 20 GB plan costs about the same as the 7-day unlimited pass but lasts a month, and asked how long the trip was.
The follow-up: "30 days unlimited."
The answer: the price, what "unlimited" means on that plan (2 GB a day at full speed, then 512 Kbps until the next day), and the link getwigoo.com/it/buy/kz?plan=KZ_2_Daily&days=30, which opens the purchase sheet for that plan. Then the steps: type the email, choose Continua senza codice, pay, and the QR code appears on the page and by email. It closed by pointing out that if 20 GB in a month were enough, the fixed plan would save about €50.
In short:
| Turn | You | The assistant |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Asks for an eSIM for Kazakhstan | Reads the destination and its nine plans, lists them, compares 20 GB with the 7-day unlimited pass, asks how long the trip is |
| 2 | Says 30 days unlimited | Gives the price, explains the daily full-speed allowance, sends the plan link and the three steps to pay |
| 3 | Opens the link | Nothing more: the purchase sheet for that plan is already open |
That comparison is the point of the connector: the assistant can compare honestly because it reads every plan, not just the one we would rather sell. The purchase itself is the one in Buy a travel eSIM without an account, and it works the same when the eSIM is for someone else.
Good to know
- Prices are list prices. The amount you pay is calculated at checkout, in your currency. It is the same price as on the website, and you can compare it with what carriers charge for roaming.
- The networks are named. Each plan says which network it connects to; networks by country has the full list.
- The link may lose its tracking. Assistants sometimes drop the
utm_part of our links when they rewrite them. The link still works. - It does not place orders. Paying inside the assistant, with Stripe's tokens for AI agents, is the next step, and we will add it when assistants ask for it. Why assistants are moving this way is in Buy a travel eSIM with an AI assistant.
- After you buy, installing is the same as for any eSIM: how to install and activate it.

Quick answers
How do I connect Wigoo to Claude?
Wigoo is listed in Claude's connector directory: open the Wigoo listing at claude.ai/directory/connectors/wigoo, or search Wigoo in Customize, Connectors, Discover, and press Connect. There is no sign in. Then switch it on in a chat from the + menu.
Can I use the Wigoo connector in ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT open Plugins, then Add, then Add custom MCP server, paste https://api.getwigoo.com/api/mcp with no authentication and connect it. Then type @Wigoo in a chat. Wigoo is also under review for the ChatGPT plugin directory.
Is the Wigoo MCP server free?
Yes. It is public, needs no key and no account, and only reads our catalogue.
Can the assistant buy the eSIM for me?
It gives you a link that opens the purchase of the plan it chose, and you pay on getwigoo.com with an email and no account. An agent that controls a browser can complete those steps with your approval.
Does the connector see my Wigoo account?
No. It has no sign in and only reads public catalogue data: destinations, plans, prices and buy links.
