Buy an eSIM for someone else: a parent, a friend, a client
You pay, they install. Send the eSIM straight to their email or to yours and forward the link. How to check their phone first, how they install it without you, and how an AI assistant or a travel agency can do the same.
You can buy a Wigoo eSIM for someone else and let them install it on their own phone, wherever they are. Pay on getwigoo.com without an account, send the eSIM to their email or to yours, and they install it from a link with one tap or a QR code. You never need to touch their phone.
Parents do it for children going abroad, children for parents who would rather not deal with it, friends for the one who always forgets, travel agencies for their clients. Increasingly an AI assistant does it too, on behalf of whoever asked.
| Who you are buying for | What usually works | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| A parent or grandparent | Your email, then walk them through the one-tap install on the phone | Setting up an eSIM for parents and kids |
| A child or a student abroad | Their email, a longer plan, and top-ups on the same eSIM when they need more | eSIM for students, eSIM for long stays |
| The whole family | One eSIM each, all to your email, forwarded one by one | eSIM for families |
| A colleague on a work trip | Their email, a plan with room for hotspot and video calls | Data for a work trip |
| Clients of a travel agency | A business account instead of single purchases | Wigoo for travel agencies |
Before you pay: check their phone
This is the one thing you cannot fix after paying, so ask first.
- Does the phone take an eSIM? Apple lists the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and every later model; recent Google Pixels and Samsung Galaxy phones take one too. On an iPhone, Settings, General, About lists a digital SIM when there is one.
- Is it unlocked? A phone locked to a carrier refuses an eSIM from anyone else. Phones bought outright usually are not locked; phones bought on a contract sometimes are. What a carrier lock is and how to check.
- How long and where? A 7-day trip to one country and a month across Europe need different plans. Each destination page shows plans by data and by days, and an unlimited day pass where we have one. For several countries, a regional plan covers the whole trip.
- How much data? If they mostly use maps and messages, a few GB go a long way; video and hotspot use much more. How much data apps use.
Prices for a few common trips, live from our catalogue and in your currency:
| Wigoo eSIM | 5 GB | 10 GB | 20 GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | $4.9930 days | $7.9930 days | $12.4930 days |
| United States | $5.9930 days | $9.9930 days | $21.4990 days |
| Thailand | $4.9930 days | $7.9930 days | $12.4930 days |
| Turkey | $3.9930 days | $5.4930 days | $9.9930 days |
| United Kingdom | $4.4930 days | $6.9930 days | $12.4930 days |
Their email or yours
There are two ways to send it, and both work without an account.
| Their email | Your email | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the eSIM arrives | In their inbox, with the install link | In yours; you forward the link |
| Who gets the receipt | They do | You do |
| Who can sign in later and top it up | They can, with that email | You can, and top up for them |
| Best when | They are happy to install on their own | You want to help, or you buy for a group |
Either way, the receipt goes to the email typed at checkout, and that email is the one that can sign in later to see the eSIM and add a top-up.
Step by step
- Choose the plan on getwigoo.com and press Buy.
- Type the email, theirs or yours, in the sheet that asks Where should we send your eSIM?
- Choose Continue without the code. You do not need to sign in. Signing in only matters if you want to use your Wigoo credit or a saved card.
- Pay with a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link. The price is in your currency.
- Send the link. The eSIM page that opens after payment is the one they need. If it went to your email, forward the link in that email.
The full purchase without an account is explained in Buy a travel eSIM without an account.
How they install it without you
The link opens a page made for the person who installs, not for the one who paid. On an iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later there is a single button that installs the eSIM. On any phone there is a QR code to scan from another screen, and the code to type by hand. Our installation guide covers each case, and if the QR code is refused, this one.
Three things to tell them:
- Install it at home. The days of the plan start counting only when the eSIM first connects at the destination, so installing early costs nothing.
- It installs once. After that the page says the eSIM is already on a phone. If they change phone, they need a new eSIM: what to do when the phone changes.
- Their number does not change. It is a data plan. Their usual SIM stays active for calls and texts, and WhatsApp keeps working over the eSIM's data.
- If it says no service on arrival, seven quick checks fix almost every case: eSIM installed but no service.
With an AI assistant
You can ask an assistant to do the choosing. With the Wigoo connector, Claude or ChatGPT can look up the plans for the destination, compare them for the length of the trip and give you a link that opens the purchase for the right plan. You type the traveller's email and pay. An agent that can use a browser can also complete the purchase itself, with the email you give it, after you approve the amount. How to connect it is in Connect Wigoo to Claude or ChatGPT, and what assistants can do on Wigoo is on this page.
For travel agencies and companies
If you buy eSIMs for clients or employees every week, there is a simpler way than paying one by one: a business account with a wallet, your logo on the eSIM page your clients see, and prices for resale. See Wigoo for travel agencies, Wigoo for companies and how business eSIMs work.

Quick answers
Can I buy an eSIM for someone else?
Yes. Buy it on getwigoo.com without an account, type their email or yours, and they install it on their own phone from the link.
Does the other person need an account?
No. They only need the link. If they want to check their data or top up later, they can sign in with the email the eSIM was sent to.
Can I install an eSIM on another person's phone remotely?
You cannot install it for them, but you do not need to: the link lets them install it in one tap on a recent iPhone, or by scanning a QR code.
What if their phone does not support eSIM?
Then the eSIM cannot be installed on it. Check before paying: most iPhones from the XS onwards and recent Pixel and Galaxy phones support eSIM, and the phone must not be locked to a carrier.
Can a travel agency buy eSIMs for its clients?
Yes, one by one without an account, or with a Wigoo business account that adds a wallet, the agency's logo on the eSIM page and resale prices.
